Majorly Memorable

After sampling classes from Chemistry to Middle Eastern Music, it's about time I overcome my curricular commitment issues and delve into a field of study. Out of the 18 majors at NYUAD, I'm choosing Literature. I was cleaning off my bookshelf today and thinking about how much reading and writing have always been part of my life...pretty much every room in my parents' house has at least one bookshelf and I still remember snippets of the stories they'd read me as a kid. I also remember seeing this trend on Facebook where you list books that have influenced you. So here it is...in no particular order, 15 works of fiction that will stay with me forever.

1. The Prince of Tides by Pat Conroy
2. In Cold Blood by Truman Capote
3. The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkein
4. Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli
5. The Giver by Lois Lowry
6. Revolutionary Road by Richard Yates
7. One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez
8. The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy
9. The Kite Runner by Khaled Husseini
10. Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card
11. The Cirlce Trilogy by Ted Dekker
12. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
13. Seedfolks by Paul Fleischman
14. A Separate Peace by John Knowles
15. Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery
